What is rattan?

Rattan is a natural product that is obtained from the so-called Rotang palm. This is a type of climbing palm that is characterized by its long, often spiked lianas . Like a creeper, it attaches itself to other trees and plants and climbs upwards. Their liana-like shoots can grow up to 200 m long and 5 cm thick.
